Creative School Fundraising with Personalised Bears
Fundraising generally is dissected into two classifications. There is the traditional approach in which parents, teachers and students participate in some form of a sale of items such as baked goods, discount cards or magazine subscriptions. Secondly, there is the more technology based route which focuses on internet based sales in which schools accumulate funds through the sales of web based vendors.
However, these are not a parent or teacher’s only options when it comes to lucrative school fundraising. There are a handful of more creative methods to raising money for your particular school.
An Original Gala Fundraiser
For the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) of Prestwood Elementary, a gala fundraiser featuring both live and silent auctions was a smashing success for the school. With an off-beat theme, the parents and teachers organized a benefit ball which was dubbed “My Big, Fat, Fun Wedding” in which “brides” and “grooms” (parents and guests) showed up adorned in nuptial styles popular during the decades of the 50’s through the 80’s.
While all attending enjoyed a night to remember, the outcome was incredible. Over two hundred guests purchased tickets with many participating in the auctions which subsequently raised an abundance of funds for the computer lab and arts program in the school.
Personalised Bears: An Adorable Fundraiser
Numerous schools around the globe are discovering the fundraising potential of personalised bears. These cuddly and uniquely designed little plushes truly capture hearts with their tailored personalities. Personalised bears are an excellent and creative way to raise funds for any school.
The process is as simple and convenient as allowing customers to upload a picture to have printed on the bear’s t-shirt. Whether a customer chooses to customise the teddy bear to don their school’s logo or opts for a design which is more distinct to their personal style, personalised bears are a fantastic way to raise funds for your child or student’s learning institution.
A Howl of a Fundraiser
During Halloween, the parents and teachers of one elementary school opted to arrange a Halloween costume contest. So what was the twist? This costume contest was restricted to the canine variety. With four presiding judges that included a local veterinarian and a pet shop owner, pet owners paid an entry fee to participate. Halloween treats, hot chocolate and other refreshments were served by the participating and parents and teachers, while spectators were given the thrill of witnessing local pups adorned in competitive costumes. With each pup receiving a toy and milk bone, there were truly no losers at this event. In addition to the refreshments and entry fees, the parent group leaders managed to collect donations which were accumulated for a raffle at the event.
