Many Uses of the School Tea Towels

School tea towels are a fun way to get children and parents involved in fund raising for the schools. They are relatively easy to produce, highly valued by the participants and easily sell out during events. Colourful motifs are popular among kids, their parents, and friends and make a nice present during holidays and other family celebrations. With the school tea towels, they’re practical accessories that can be put to many uses at homes. Some of the many uses of tea towels are given below.

Cushion: Use as a cushioning material between things that are easily broken like glass. Put it under a mixing bowl to stabilise during mixing or under a cutting board to keep it in place.

Drying: After washing kitchen equipment and utensils, the tea towels can be used to dry them and be placed under overturned glasses to absorb moisture. They can also be used to dry fruits and vegetables. It looks much better than a plastic rack.

Protect: Holding hot pans while carrying it from the ovens; more comfortable than an oven mitt. Holding glasses and other utensils with hot food and drinks; it is an important addition to the tea settings.

Wear as aprons: The tea towels can be worn around as aprons while serving or preparing food and for dirty hands. And it can also be used to set the table for dinner. Many colourful ones can be used to jazz up your table.

Food and Drinks: Instead of using paper which is not good for health, wrap food in the tea towels to keep them crispy. Wine bottles can be wrapped in the tea towels for a classy gift. Long loaf breads can also be served in tea towels for longer preservation from external elements. Hot food like pound cakes, muffins and biscuits can be kept warm by wrapping in a tea towel and for serving.

Give gifts: Using tea towels to wrap gifts is more personalized and intimate. The tea towel can also be used later. Moreover, the towels itself make for lovely gifts, especially for Teacher’s Day and Thanksgiving.

Frame: Save and display the kid’s paintings for a long time by preserving it in a frame. Hang it in the bedroom giving them inspiration to create more.

School tea towels are not applicable in situations when just bought from an event. But, over time, the towels can be re purposed for all the above uses.
